Installing IPTV on Apple TV and iPhone in 10 easy steps
Pick the first Apple device
Any Apple device in the house can start the trial, and the app looks much the same on each. The Apple TV suits the shared living-room screen, where most family viewing happens. An iPhone is handy for a quick first check of the login while someone else is using the television. Once it works there, each extra screen takes only a few minutes.
Download Smarters Player Lite
Search the App Store for Smarters Player Lite and check that the developer reads WHMCS SMARTERS before tapping Get. Plenty of unrelated apps reuse the words Smarters or TiViMate. The app is free. An optional Premium unlock cost 1.99 dollars at our September 2026 check, and SyntraTV plays fine without it.
Install it on every Apple screen
Apps do not copy themselves between iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, so repeat the download on each screen you plan to use. The Apple TV keeps its App Store icon on the home screen. iPhone and iPad users tap Search in the store and install the identical listing. A child who has a personal iPad needs it there too.
Enter your SyntraTV login
Launch the player and pick Xtream Codes as the sign-in type. On a phone, hold a finger on each detail in WhatsApp, copy it and drop it into its box. On Apple TV, a nearby iPhone can pop up a keyboard prompt, which is much quicker than spelling each character with the Siri Remote.
Let the first download finish at home
The opening sync pulls in channel groups, listings and a catalog of 120,000+ movies and series, which takes about two minutes over home Wi-Fi. Avoid doing it over mobile data, because the download is large and brings nothing useful to a phone plan.
Set the date and time for the guide
Listings are shown against the device clock. iPhone and iPad owners switch on Set Automatically in Settings, General, Date & Time. Apple TV owners check the time zone in the General section of Settings. Then refresh the listings inside the player, and programs line up with your local hour.
Look for catch-up on supported channels
Where the app and the channel both support it, a catch-up or archive option lets you replay a recent program. Not every channel includes this, and each keeps its own window. Try it on the channels your household watches most, so everyone knows where replay is available before a busy week.
Add Screen Time limits for children
Apple builds restrictions into each device. On iPhone and iPad, Settings, Screen Time can limit apps and protect the rules with a passcode. On Apple TV, Settings, General, Restrictions locks apps and purchases behind a four-digit code. If the player offers its own parental PIN, use that as well.
Choose subtitles and audio
While something plays, bring up the controls: a downward swipe on the Siri Remote works on Apple TV, and a tap works on the phone. Then open the subtitle or audio menu. International channels sometimes include a second language. Caption style lives under Settings, Accessibility, Subtitles and Captioning on Apple TV.
Share the login with the family
Every iPhone, iPad and Apple TV at home can hold the same SyntraTV login. Your plan decides how many stream at once, from one to five screens. Favorites are saved inside the app on each device, so each person builds their own list on their own screen.
Apple TV and iPhone not working? Try these fixes
Channels appear but will not start
Open the player settings and look for a choice of playback engine. Switching away from the default, where labels such as VLC or FFmpeg appear, often starts stubborn channels, since a few streams use formats the standard Apple engine handles poorly. If one channel still refuses while others play, send its name to support on WhatsApp.
The app does not match this guide
You likely installed a copycat. Delete it and look for the listing whose developer is WHMCS SMARTERS. Nothing happens to your SyntraTV account, and the same details sign in to the real app at once. Never pay a copycat app for channels, since none of them supply any.
AirPlay keeps cutting out
With AirPlay, the phone fetches the stream and passes it on through the router, so the traffic doubles. Move closer to the router, or run the player directly on the Apple TV. Turning off Low Data Mode for the home Wi-Fi on the iPhone can also help.
The app is not in the store
The App Store shows apps for the country on your Apple Account rather than where you are standing. If you moved without updating it, the app may not appear. Search the full name first. If it stays hidden, SyntraTV support can suggest another player that works with the same login.
Playback stops when the iPhone locks
Live video often pauses when the screen sleeps, unless the app supports picture in picture. Lengthen Auto-Lock under Settings, Display & Brightness, keep the phone charging, or watch on the Apple TV instead.
Guide times are off by an hour
Listings follow the device clock. Confirm automatic time on the phone or tablet and the correct zone on the Apple TV, then reload listings. A single group that stays wrong can be moved with the time shift setting, where the app includes one.
No catch-up option on a channel
Replay depends on both the channel and the player. Many channels offer no catch-up, and those that do keep different windows. Update the app, then ask support which of your regular channels support replay. A wrong time zone can also make archived programs appear shifted.
A child can still open the player
Screen Time limits apply only once a passcode is set and the app is part of the limit. On iPhone and iPad, check Settings, Screen Time, App Limits. On Apple TV, confirm that Restrictions is on under Settings, General. Pick a code the child has not watched you type.
The iPhone warms up during long viewing
Hours of video decoding keep the phone busy. Lower the brightness, choose HD on the small screen and keep a charger attached. For a whole evening, the Apple TV or a propped-up iPad runs cooler and shows a larger picture.

Can the iPad and Apple TV stream together?
Yes, on a plan that covers two or more screens. Each playing device uses one stream. On a single-screen plan, only one can play at a time. Plans for 2, 3 and 5 screens let parents and kids watch different channels in different rooms. Favorites stay on each device.
How do I keep kids away from certain channels on Apple devices?
