Checklist for IPTV on your LG Smart TV

Installing IPTV on LG Smart TV in 10 easy steps
Find the webOS version
The webOS number appears in Settings, on the support or TV information screen. Anything from 3.0 upward handles modern players comfortably. Older NetCast models only handle a dated Smart IPTV build, and a streaming stick on HDMI gives a far better experience on those sets.
Sign in and open the store
Press Home and open Apps; older firmware calls it LG Content Store. Sign in with an LG account, ideally created on a phone so you avoid entering an email one letter at a time. Then tap the magnifier to search the catalog for players.
Install a player
Type IPTV Smarters Pro into search. It is a free app with an Xtream sign-in, though some regions do not list it. On older LG chips, the lighter Smart IPTV often runs more smoothly. Smart IPTV charges once per television after its trial; siptv.app quoted 5.49 EUR in September 2026. The fee covers the app, not channels.
Connect SyntraTV
In Smarters, select the Xtream Codes API option and copy the server address, username and password from your WhatsApp chat. Smart IPTV has no sign-in screen: write down the MAC address it shows, open siptv.app/mylist on a phone, type in the MAC, add the M3U link, tick Detect EPG and press send. Restart the app to load the list.
Set the clock for the guide
Program times follow the TV clock. On webOS 6 and later, open All Settings, General, System, Time & Date; earlier versions place Time & Date directly under General. Leave automatic time on and check the zone. A show airing at 9 p.m. where you live then appears at 9 p.m. in the grid, even on channels from abroad.
Move around with the Magic Remote
Point the Magic Remote at a group and roll the wheel to scroll through long lists. Click to play, or point at search if you already know the channel name. Most outside players ignore number keys, so favorites are the quickest way back to the channels your household opens every day.
Replay programs on catch-up channels
In Smarters, open the Catch Up section where your edition includes it. Channels with replay are listed there, and you pick an earlier program to start it from the top. Only supported channels offer this, and each keeps its own window, so check the ones your household watches most during the trial.
Lock apps and groups with a PIN
webOS can hide apps behind a PIN. On recent sets, look for Application Locks under All Settings, General, Safety, after changing the default 0000 code. Inside Smarters, Settings, Parental Control hides chosen categories behind a separate PIN. Use both when younger children watch the TV on their own.
Turn on subtitles or another language
Click the picture during playback to bring up the player controls, then choose a subtitle or audio track if the stream carries one. Some international channels include a second language. LG keeps its own caption options under Accessibility, though a streaming app usually ignores those and uses its own menus instead.
Use the same login on another screen
The details that work on the LG also work on a phone, a tablet or a TV in another room. Your plan sets how many can stream at once, from one to five. Favorites, locks and any Smart IPTV activation stay tied to each device, so every new screen needs its own short setup. Keep the WhatsApp message pinned, so anyone adding a screen can read the details from it.
LG Smart TV not working? Try these fixes
Sound plays over a black screen
Working audio with no picture points to a video format the app cannot decode. Open the player settings and try a different player engine or decoder. On older LG chips, the HD copy of a channel often plays when a higher-quality copy will not. If every channel does this, update the app from the store first.
The store lists no IPTV players
What the LG store shows depends on the country set in the TV menu. Correct it if it does not match your home, and repeat the search. Still empty? message SyntraTV support with your webOS version, or connect a streaming stick to a free HDMI port.
The playlist is gone after a restart
Some webOS versions wipe app data when storage fills up. Remove apps nobody uses, then sign in again. With Smart IPTV, ticking Save online at siptv.app/mylist stores the playlist with the developer, so a wipe on the TV does not lose it.
The Xtream login is rejected
With the pointer, it is easy to tap a neighboring key. Retype the server address, starting with http:// and finishing with the port, and check the password capitals. Clear any old autofill suggestion. An ended trial or plan fails too, since nothing on a SyntraTV account renews automatically.
Guide times are an hour out
Check Time & Date before anything else. If the time is correct and only one country group drifts, move the EPG timeshift in the player by one hour where it is offered. Look again after the spring and fall clock changes, which catch many households out. A wrong zone also makes catch-up programs look shifted, so fix the clock first.
Catch-up is not listed for a channel
Replay is available only on channels that support it, and the window varies. Older Smarters builds on webOS may also hide the Catch Up section. Update the app, then ask support on WhatsApp which of your regular channels offer catch-up. The team can check a specific channel for you within minutes.
The locked app opens without a PIN
The app lock works only once Application Locks is switched on and the player is ticked in its list. Check both, then restart the TV. If the PIN was never changed from 0000, anyone who knows the default can unlock it, so set a new one.
The app hangs on its loading screen
Pull the power plug and wait sixty seconds, because standby alone leaves memory full. Start the player again. Still frozen? Update it from Apps, or uninstall it, reinstall it and sign in with your SyntraTV details. Removing apps nobody uses gives webOS more breathing room as well.
