Installing IPTV on Windows PC and Mac in 10 easy steps
Install desktop Smarters
Get the Windows or macOS installer from the official IPTV Smarters website. Run it, open the app and choose the Xtream Codes API sign-in. Copy the server address, username and password from WhatsApp. A dashboard with live TV, films, series and catch-up loads within a minute.

VLC is free from videolan.org. On Windows, open Media, Open Network Stream (Ctrl+N); on a Mac, use File, Open Network (Cmd+N). Paste the SyntraTV M3U link and click Play. Ctrl+L shows the playlist on Windows, where the search box finds channels quickly.

Switch on hardware decoding
Hardware decoding hands video to the graphics chip and keeps laptops quiet and cool. In VLC, the option lives in Tools, Preferences, Input / Codecs; choose Automatic in the hardware decoding menu. Smarters has a decoder choice in its player settings. On Windows, the HEVC Video Extensions add-on from the Microsoft Store may be required for some streams.
Set the clock so the guide is right
Guide times follow the computer clock. In Windows, turn on the automatic time zone under Settings, Time & language, Date & time. On a Mac, check System Settings, General, Date & Time. If one group is still an hour off, the EPG timeshift in Smarters moves it in whole hours.
Replay shows with Catch Up
In Smarters, open the Catch Up tile. It lists channels that support replay; choose one, then a date and a past program. Replay windows vary by channel, and many channels offer none. VLC has no catch-up view, so use Smarters when the family wants to watch something they missed.
Protect younger viewers
Smarters has Settings, Parental Control, where a PIN hides chosen categories. For wider control, give children their own Windows account through Microsoft Family Safety, or a separate Mac user with Screen Time. Do not let the browser save the SyntraTV password on accounts children use.
Find channels quickly
In Smarters, open Live TV and choose a group, or search by channel name. Mark everyday channels as favorites to gather them on one screen. VLC shows one long list, so its search box is the fastest route. Each person can keep their own Smarters profile on a shared PC. Favorites stay on that computer and do not follow you to other screens.
Pick subtitles and audio tracks
When a stream carries extra tracks, Smarters shows subtitle and audio buttons on the playback bar. In VLC for Windows, use the Subtitle and Audio menus, then Sub Track or Audio Track. On a Mac, the same menus sit in the bar at the top of the screen.
Put the picture on the TV and add screens
The simplest way onto the big screen is a plain HDMI cable, which adds no lag. Wireless options exist as well: Win+K for Miracast televisions on Windows, and AirPlay from a Mac to an Apple TV. The same login works on phones and TVs around the house, up to the screen count of your plan.

VLC lists channels but nothing plays
Give VLC time with a big playlist; clicking before it finishes loading can leave the screen empty. Once the list is complete, try the channel again. If a single entry keeps failing while others play, report it to support, since it is a source fault rather than a login problem.
SmartScreen blocks the installer
Microsoft Defender SmartScreen flags installers that few people have run. When you are sure the file came from the official Smarters site, select More info and Run anyway. Installers from pop-up download sites are a different story; delete them, since many carry adware.
Voices and lips do not match
VLC has two handy keys, J and K, which nudge the soundtrack in small steps until voices match mouths. In Smarters, leaving the channel and coming back normally fixes the gap. If the drift returns, pick another quality of that stream, or restart the app.
The web player refuses the login
A saved browser password may be filling in old details. Remove it and type the username and password again. On a one-screen plan, also check that nothing else in the house is playing, because an extra session is refused. A private browsing window avoids old saved details altogether.
macOS will not open the app
Gatekeeper blocks apps it cannot verify. If you downloaded Smarters from the official site, open System Settings, Privacy & Security, find the message naming the app and select Open Anyway. Launch it from Applications after that. You only need to approve it once.
Playback stutters and the fan is loud
Software decoding is overworking the processor. Enable hardware decoding, plug in the power adapter and shut tabs you are not using. If that is not enough, choose the HD stream; on a laptop screen the difference is small.
Catch Up shows nothing for a channel
That channel may not offer replay, since catch-up covers selected channels, each with its own window. Refresh the playlist in Smarters and look again. VLC shows live channels only. If a channel marked for replay stays empty, send its name to support.
A child can open channels you locked
The Smarters PIN applies only inside Smarters. If VLC or the web player is also on the computer, a child could reach channels there. Keep those on adult accounts, and give children a separate Windows or Mac user with family controls.
Guide times are wrong in Smarters
Smarters times every listing by the system clock, so confirm the automatic time zone is on and reload the guide. If one country group is still an hour out, the EPG timeshift setting in Smarters shifts it in whole-hour steps.
